Our school is a Primary School with both Infant and Junior Departments plus a Nursery. It caters for the 3+ to 11 years age range. At present there are approximately 273 children attending school.
St. Luke's is a Catholic Primary School where we aim to provide a wide range of learning opportunities for all children. We share with parents the wish that children will grow into caring, responsible and independent adults. It is only natural that we should strive together to achieve this aim and offer parents every support in the best interests of the children.
This is an exciting time in education. Many changes are taking place and it is only right that parents should be informed about the aims and policies of their child's school.
There will be numerous occasions when you will be invited into school for various events such as Parents' Evenings, Performances, Fund Raising Events, Talks and Workshops on School Policy or Curricular matters.
These times are important but it is most important that when your child tells you about their day, really listen. It is in these ways that you learn the most about your school.
There is more to life than study. We offer other opportunities outside the classroom for children to develop all their talents in sport and creative activities. Children may join 'out of school ' clubs for football, netball, cricket, dance, judo, newspaper and art, guitar and choir.
We see the school at the hub of our community and it's surrounding people. we try to make our pupils aware of their environment and as a result we have our own nature conservation areas and environmental projects that the children are responsible for.
St. Luke's is a family school, building on family values, our warm and friendly atmosphere ensuring that the children are content and that they work to their full potential.
