Personal Development

At St Luke’s Catholic Primary School, personal development is central to everything we do. Guided by our mission statement,

“We follow in the footsteps of Jesus, as we live, love and learn together,”

we are committed to nurturing the spiritual, moral, social and emotional development of every child, so that they grow into confident, compassionate and responsible individuals who are well prepared for life in modern Britain.

Our personal development programme is carefully planned and woven through all aspects of school life. It reflects our Catholic faith, Gospel values and our belief that personal growth is a lifelong journey.

Our Mission

Rooted in our Catholic faith, we aim:

  • provide a welcoming, safe and nurturing Christian environment where all pupils feel valued and respected
  • promote a positive atmosphere for learning that supports pupils’ wellbeing and personal growth
  • develop the whole child, enabling each pupil to reach their full potential academically, socially and emotionally
  • encourage pupils to see personal development as something that continues throughout life
  • prepare pupils to play an active, positive role in society, living out Gospel values in their daily lives
  • foster strong, supportive relationships between pupils, staff, families, parish and the wider community

These principles underpin our approach to personal development and shape the experiences we provide for our pupils.
